To mark their 35th anniversary, Warwick have released the 2017 Thumb 35th Anniversary limited edition model.
The master-built instruments are built in Germany and limited to fifty units of each the four and five-string versions.
We have number 10.
Taking its cues from the standard Thumb NT model, the neck-through bass is built with an “ultra-thin” 5-piece wenge and maple neck matched with a marble tigerstripe ebony fingerboard.
It has paua dot inlays with illuminated side-dots for extra visibility.
Its body is made of dry aged mahogany with a highly figured maple burl top.
Warwick fitted them with a set of EMG pickups as well as a 2-band MEC preamp that is a replica of electronics used in the first Thumb bass from 1984.
Other features include a 2-piece solid brass Warwick bridge, gold hardware, and a natural dirty blonde transparent satin finish.
Each of the Warwick Thumb NT 2017 Limited Edition basses ships in a handmade leather gig bag with a certificate of authenticity.
The back of the headstock is adorned by Warwick founder Hans Peter Wilfer’s signature.
