The Solid State Logic SSL X-Rack Master Bus module allows control of the X-Rack's internal Master & Record stereo buses, and is a full featured studio control module including speaker switching, mix insert and insert sum points, mono compatibility check, and metering of the master out. In addition to this it can be connected to two pairs of speakers (main/mini), and provides dedicated controls for level, dim, and cut.
The SSL Master Bus module is required when using either the 4-Input and/or 8-Input SSL X-Rack analog summing modules. Only a single Master Bus module is required per X-Rack installation and you can link two X-Rack chassis together for a massive amount of inputs. We recommend using as many 4-Input modules as possible and only a single 8-Input module in order to achieve the greatest end result and that famous SSL analog console sound. By doing things this way, you have complete control over the level and pan in analog via the 4-Input modules.
The SSL Master Bus module can also be automated via MIDI and you can perform a true analog fade in/out by sending a MIDI signal to the module from your digital audio workstation using MIDI automation. This allows you to store your fades with your session in a MIDI track and have complete control and recall from within your session.
