Description

Finally you can mix with confidence on your current setup. Sonarworks Reference 4 SE removes unwanted colouration from your speakers and headphones. With the Sonarworks SR (Studio Reference) sound, you can focus on music instead of worrying about the sound in the studio or on-the-go.

Reference 4 Studio Edition includes:

  • Reference 4 Measure - step-by-step guide to find out where your monitors need help
  • XREF20 calibration microphone with individual calibration curve - the mic alongside Reference 4 Measure guarantees maximum precision
  • Reference 4 Systemwide - Sonarworks SR applied to all audio output
  • Reference 4 Plugin - Sonarworks SR with zero latency in your DAW
  • Headphone profiles - See the list of supported models here:

Product can be activated on 3 machines.

Reference 4 Measure

The intuitive Reference 4 Measure process uses patent-pending technology to generate a profile of the frequency response of your room and speakers. The step-by-step process takes you through 37 data-source points to create a calibration profile from an array of data.

Once a calibration profile is generated, Reference 4 will correct unwanted or lost frequencies to attain the Studio Reference (SR) sound in your chosen DAW or using Reference 4 Systemwide.

Even in some of the most unruly rooms, a precision of +/- 0.5dB is attained.

Reference 4 Systemwide

As a standalone application, Reference 4 Systemwide becomes a virtual audio driver delivering the Sonarworks SR sound. Your system’s audio output becomes calibrated based on the headphone or speaker profile allowing you to reference your favorite music ahead of a session or enjoy music as it was intended.

Systemwide also features:

  • 2 filter modes: zero latency and phase linear
  • Target curve customization
  • Pre-defined non-flat target curves
  • Mono monitoring
  • Clipping control
  • Dry/Wet control

Reference 4 Plugin

The Reference 4 Plugin will sit at the end of your track, sub or master bus in any application supporting VST, AU, AAX or RTAS plugins. By an average headphone profile or individual speaker calibration,  you'll remove unwanted hardware colouration. You can then work with confidence and hear every sound in your mix without leaving your DAW.

The plugin provides features that balances CPU efficiency and filtering latency. They include:

  • 2 filter modes: zero latency and phase linear
  • Target curve customization
  • Pre-defined non-flat target curves
  • Mono monitoring
  • Clipping control
  • Dry/Wet control

Calibration Microphone

At this price range, all measurement microphones are roughly the same, so what makes the XREF20 stand out is its individual calibration profile? Every mic has been measured by Sonarworks acousticians against an ANSI certified measurement microphone. This means perfect accuracy within the audible range and freedom from sample-to-sample irregularities.

As each XREF20 microphone comes with an individual calibration profile, to ensure a flat frequency response during the measurement process,  using the XREF20 alongside Reference 4 Measure guarantees maximum precision.
