The IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R130 speaker stands are now available for smaller studio monitors, bookshelf and desktop speakers. Like its predecessor models, the ISO-L8R130 is designed to improve the performance and clarity of any speaker system, and features the company’s patented “floating” architecture for audio image stabilizing.
Designed to accommodate monitors with widths of at least 5” and weights of up to 20 lbs., the ISO-L8R130 stand measures 5.1” wide and 6” deep and can be configured to either 2.5” or 8” in height with adjustor inserts that provide up to 14 variations of height and tilt adjustments. These variations of height and tilt adjustment allow any speaker to be set up in the position for the optimal sound quality.
Whether mixing a new project or listening to your favourite music, you’ll hear tighter bass and more openness throughout the entire frequency range. With a stronger phantom image, each instrument will have a cleaner three-dimensional sound in the mix.

ISO-L8R Adjustable Speaker Stand Design
The only audio speaker stands that address the PIF Principles - the three elements affecting sound
IsoAcoustic's unique patented design provides superior audio performance by supporting the PIF Principles in acoustic design.
Placement – proximity to adjacent and nearby surfaces. ISO-L8R audio stands raise the audio speakers or studio monitors off the supporting surface and away from adjacent surfaces to reduce reflections.
Isolation – from supporting surfaces. Decoupling the audio speakers or studio monitors from the supporting surface reduces the energy from exciting other objects, and allows the speaker and enclosure to float independently.
Focus – Raising and tilting the audio speakers and studio monitors creates an ideal listening position by forming an equilateral triangle from the speaker to the listener, with tweeters tilted to the listener's exact ear level.
An important aspect of the speaker stand design is the ability to adjust the height and tilt angle of the supported speaker enclosure to optimize its position relative to the listener. Two lengths of tubing along with 2 sets of end-plug pairs provide 14 steps of height adjustment as the combinations are used to tilt the speaker up and down. The stand can be assembled and reconfigured repeatedly to establish the ideal position off the supporting surface and focused towards the listener.
In a typical Desktop Audio Workstation (DAW) configuration, the listener is positioned 3 to 4 feet from the monitors with ear level approximately 20" above the work surface. An enclosure containing an 8" speaker may position the high frequency driver 12" from the bottom while an enclosure with a 6" speaker may position the high frequency driver only 8" from the bottom. Raising and tilting these examples to their optimum position can easily be achieved with this speaker stand design. This speaker stand configuration is also suited for applications over longer distances such as in large recording studios or with consumer products where home stereo speakers may ideally need to be raised 6" off the floor and tilted up 8 degrees.
The tube lengths and end-caps combinations provide a simple means to establish optimal adjustment of large and small monitors over the typical 36 to 48 inch listening distance for mixing and evaluation.
ISO-L8R speaker stands prevent the transfer of speaker cabinet energy to surrounding surfaces, effectively isolating the speaker from the desktop, bookshelf or other surface. By allowing the speaker to perform in free space, it's able to sound the way it was intended. The end result is a more accurate, satisfying sound, which makes mixing and listening a better experience.
Make your speaker perform at its best
Speakers are made to reproduce and recreate the original sound faithfully and accurately. But often, room placement is a compromise, with serious detrimental affects on the actual sound you hear.
IsoAcoustics understands this dilemma. That's why we've developed a patented technique of isolating the speaker from its environment, allowing true, unaltered sound to come through.
Sounds like a million dollars
ISO-L8R155 speaker stands use patented techniques to allow the speaker to "float" in free space. It's the same principle used in million-dollar studios to isolate or "float" their control rooms, resulting in the elimination of energy transfer to the surrounding surfaces.
How isolators work
Isolators prevent the transfer of speaker cabinet energy to surrounding surfaces, effectively isolating the speaker from the desktop, bookshelf or other surface. By allowing the speaker to perform in free space, it's able to sound the way it was intended. The end result is an unaltered, accurate sound, true to the artist's original intention. The mixing and listening experience are enhanced.
The audio stand's performance is a function of the isolator's shape, material volume and durometer. The opening, internal taper and concave, void end results in a compliant element to contain the supporting tubes or rods. We found that when the isolator's opening is elongated and aligned with direction of the transducer's travel, the supporting tubes tend to move fore and aft, resisting lateral and secondary movements and oscillations.
As a speaker cone moves forward, its speaker enclosure tends to move back, as predicted by Newton's third law of reciprocating motion. ISO-L8R155 stands are designed to make the difference - their transducers, enclosure and upper stand section move in a direction sympathetic to the sound source. As a result, you hear a more "pure" sound, remarkably unaffected by the environment.
