Boh Runga

BOH RUNGA is a dynamic creative force. Not content with a music career that has seen her launch to solo stardom after fronting one of the New Zealand’s most successful bands of the past decade, Boh is also establishing herself as a Kiwi fashion icon.

After carving a pop career fronting her chart-topping, multi award-winning band stellar*, Boh's solo album debut Right Here was released in 2009. Strongly reflective of her time spent transplanted to her home away from home in Silverlake, LA, the album tells tales of love, loss and life. In 2010 Boh joined forces with Che Fu and wowed audiences nationwide on The Winery Tour.

Boh's expanding list of creative partnerships outside of music include the ongoing release of ranges of Boh Runga in collaboration with The Mint Republic, a make-up product launched by Shiseido under Boh’s name and a Monarch butterfly inspired rug design for Designer Rugs 'Kiwi Icon' collection, which was a public favourite and greets those visiting the chic ANZ head office in Auckland's downtown.

In 2011 Boh teamed up with star footwear designer Kathryn Wilson for New Zealand Fashion Week, to deliver the week's most talked about show – the first open to the public show which reached an audience of over 3000 people - and they continue to collaborate.

2012 saw a new creative partnership and a first for Boh; she was back in the studio writing new music, but this time in an all girl group with Anika Moa & Hollie Smith. Anika Boh & Hollie was the name, as they needed no introduction, and Boh once again wowed sell out crowds alongside them on The Winery Tour.
Armed with a guitar and a sketchbook and a head full of melodies and ideas, Boh's creations flow from the studio to stage and catwalk.
