Synth/Keys Nut Wanted Tauranga (#6153)
Bands we like: Sonic Youth. The Clean. The Subliminals. PJ Harvey. Sparklehorse. Neu. Incubus. Velvet Underground.
We want a Moog-ish and Rhodes-ish and effects-ish freak who can make one note sound cool - and then straight up pretty piano for half of our 'nicer' tunes.
We write and compose our own indie/flying nun-ish/drone-rock/shoe-gazey/alt-country tunes - so you can pretty much create your own vibe - especially if you can get into it.
We've got good songs and gig connections with other original bands and support slots - once we're up and running.
Mostly its just to enjoy rehearsal and recording - then gigging. We record ourselves - using Pro Tools etc.
We're older and established - so if you used to play and want to again, get in touch.
Go to www.myspace.com/cantfindwater and have a listen to 'Into the Furnace' and 'Fall in Line'. We'll be doing those tunes.
We've got good songs, but we'd also like a keyboard/moog/synth pedal freak to join us.
We range from wall of noise to simple alt/country. You are free to create your own ideas - in fact it shall be applauded. The more 'into' your sound and geekery, the better.
One song might require subtle piano and the next a fully oscillated distorto single noter.
Bands we like include:
Pavement. Sonic Youth. Flying Nun. The Clean. Mogwai. Silversun Pickups. Wilco. Malkmus & Jicks.
Covering the whole spectrum from wall-of-noise harmonic soaked atmospheric lo-fi to stupid, quick riff-outs and alt-country.
Must be prepared to work at creating own music. No covers. No rock-star wannabes, racists, phobes, or boganistic behaviour patterns.
Would suit anyone who now has time for music again, can play and has a good attitude.
Full band set up in situ. So no need for transporting gear - until we go full rehearsal after getting the set together. Will need own good quality gear for gigging.
We record demos using Pro-tools and fire them out to each other - so we can work on them out of band rehearsal time - it saves shitloads of time/effort and it's easy when it all comes together during rehearsal.
Join us. Become assimilated. Make noise.
Love from The False Waltons.
