Based out of his Golden Ratio studio in Montréal, Canada, Damian has worked with Arcade Fire, The Killers, Bjork, The Prodigy and many other leading artists.

All you have to do to enter is to upload an mp3 rough mix of the track you’ve made with the ISA or Red 1 500 before September 13th. Damian will choose the winner – and he’ll start on the mix as soon as possible after the source files are supplied.

2015 marks an important milestone for Focusrite, the award-winning UK-based manufacturer of computer audio interfaces, microphone preamplifiers and audio signal processors: it’s the 30th anniversary of the founding of the original company. Focusrite grew out of a 1985 request from Beatles’ producer Sir George Martin to legendary professional audio designer Rupert Neve to design a new, high-quality microphone preamplifier and equaliser – and later a dynamics module – to extend the capabilities of the vintage Neve recording console installed in Martin’s AIR Montserrat studio in the Caribbean. Their success in Montserrat and at AIR London resulted in their commercial release as stand-alone modules.

These legendary modules and their successors, sharing the same design with only minor alterations, with their versatile mic, instrument and line inputs and their classic sound, spread around the world and found a home in many leading recording studios. They’ve been used on literally hundreds of hit records by top artists, engineers and producers – and today, the Focusrite Heritage Sound is even more popular than when the original units were first introduced over a quarter of a century ago.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original creation of these classic designs, Focusrite is running an exclusive competition. Buy and register an ISA or Red 1 500 product from 2nd March, and then use it on your track before September 1st 2015, and you could win the chance to have it mixed by world-famous mix engineer Damian Taylor. On September 1st 2015, the entry form will go live: upload an mp3 rough mix of the track you’ve made with the ISA or Red 1 500 between then and September 13th to enter the competition. Damian will choose the winner – and he’ll start on the mix as soon as possible after the source files are supplied.
