SEAGULL GUITARS ARE BACK!!!
You asked for it, and now you’ve got it. After popular demand, we’re bringing these fantastic guitars back to NZ’s shores.
Handmade in Canada, Seagull guitars offer top-range playability and tone, whilst being priced squarely at the working musician. The value for money of Seagull guitars cant be beat, they have a great tone, incredibly tuning stability and once you play one, you’ll see why they have always held their niche as one of the best gigging acoustic guitars around.
The Seagull headstock
Love it or hate it, the distinctive Seagull peghead shape is instantly recognisable…. But it’s form is dictated by it’s function…and it’s function is TUNING STABILITY
- 1) The tapered shape of the headstock ensures that all strings are pulled straight through the nut, with no angles. This drastically reduces the tendency of strings to bind on the nut….which is the cause of that “ping” sound when you tune a guitar sometimes, and also contributes to guitar’s tuning shifting while you’re playing
- 2)The narrowness of the headstock greatly reduces tortional (rotational) forces on the headstock caused by tension differences of the bass and treble strings. This means that when you detune one string, you won’t have the need to tweak the others
Proudly made in Canada
While most guitar manufacturers are forced to move operations to Asia in order to produce an affordable high-quality acoustic guitar, Seagull (part of the Godin family of companies) are able to produce these instruments 100% in the rural areas of Quebec, Canada – only a few miles outside Montreal. The guitars are built with love and care in a number of Godin’s state of the art facilities. Oh and by the way, Godin are still a 100% family owned company.
