Position: Retail Customer Services - Drums

Location: Auckland Drumshop, K Road, Auckland

Status: Full Time - Holidays and weekend work will be required.

Start Date: Immediate if required and sutiable

Position Summary:
An experienced, mature and proactive person is required for a sales & support role at the Auckland Drumshop specialising in Drums and percussion products.

The right applicant will have demonstrated wide knowledge of playing drums in a professional or semi-professional context, drum products and relevant retail sales experience. Computer skills are essential.

The Rockshop is, unquestionably, NZ’s biggest outlet for Drum and Percussion products in NZ presenting all the premium brands and supplying equipment and advice from learner to professional.

You will need to be very comfortable with customers, secure as part of a team, organized and extremely motivated. You will be in charge of significant stock, ensuring the premium brands distributed by the Rockshop are presented, displayed and supported extremely well. You will be composed under pressure and demonstrate excellent follow up for your client enquiries.

You will have a high degree of autonomy: Maturity, sound judgment, common sense and initiative is essential.

The Job of Retail Customer Service is one of the most important in the Rockshop Group. You are one of the front line staff and your knowledge, presentation, reaction, understanding of policy and procedures, merchandising and selling ability determines how clients respond to the business.

Education, Skills & Experience

Essential:
• Previous relevant experience in a retail and/ or customer service environment
• Competency in playing and demonstrating aspects of drums and percussion
• Computer skills, word processing, data entry
Must be passionate about music and musical equipment
• Ability to think logically and complete administrative tasks clearly, accurately and on time
Superior communication skills - verbal and written
• Numerically literate
Ability to prioritise tasks and time to complete assigned duties
An ability to self manage and supervise other staff
• Willingness to accept instruction and retain information
• Work effectively under pressure in a high volume work environment
• Experience in working in a team environment
• Deal well with people of all ages

Desireable:
• Professional performance credentials
• Relevant Tertiary qualification i.e. SIT, SAE, Mainz, Diploma or Degree qualification
• A proven ability to develop, maintain and build new relationships
